Engineer Resumes

For a person highly skilled in Mathematics and understanding scientific principles, engineering is the best career path to take.  It is the use of theories and practices in mathematics and calculations that make an engineer highly professional and a significant contributor to the building and construction of infrastructures and transportations systems.

Engineering is the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building and use of engines, machines and structures.  It is a discipline that requires art, skill and profession of applying scientific, mathematical, economic and even practical knowledge for the implementation of engineering plans such as the construction of buildings, roads and facilities.

An engineer is expected to test products to find out whether they are effective, reliable, safe and cost-effective.  This is done either to finished or unfinished products usually those that are produced in a chemical industry, transportation and information industries.  They are also asked to produce designs for the constructions of houses, buildings, malls and apartments as well as roads and pavements.  For this part, engineers must be able to estimate costs and identify materials that are quality and affordable.

The Engineering Field has 14 branches namely: Aerospace, Agriculture, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer hardware, Electrical and Electronic, Environmental, Industrial, Material, Mechanical, Mining and Geological, Nuclear and Petroleum.  To be able to practice in these fields, one must have finished a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering that usually takes five years.  Additional trainings may be taken especially in the use of computer software necessary for designing projects and testing for quality.

Employment opportunities for engineering professionals have gone up over the recent years because of the advent of technologies making it easier for constructions of infrastructure.  The quality control of these infrastructures is also in great demand because of the many significant stories of buildings collapsing and destroyed due to unforeseen calamities.
